In the community and world
Learning new songs at the NE MN Youth Gathering
Thanks be to God for the many ways that Trinity is able to be involved in God's world locally and globally.
On January 22 we had a report from Trinity member David Hahn, who went to Bonne Nouelle, Haiti., with Ruth Anne Olson and a group from her church in the Twin Cities, St. James Episcopal. It was fun to hear a few of their stories, and hear of the fellowship with us felt by the people there.
In the past year we have been a means through which congregation and community support:Cook County Food Shelf; local residents in need of short-term assistance for transportation or emergency needs; supplies for Haiti; and through the ELCA to areas of disaster and poverty around the world. Other ways we are invovled include student scholarship to St. Olaf College; efforts for medical care in Tanzania nd Haiti; Confirmation Canoe Trip; Vacation Bible School, Lutheran outdoor camping opportunity for Trinity youth at Camp Vermillion; and more.
HOVLAND AREA AA has begun a second meeting night at Trinity, 6 p.m. Wednesday nights and 7 p.m. on Saturdays.
This year through the ELCA we gave more than $38.00 / confirmed member to fight World Hunger. Through several ministry partners and the ELCA we are at work in the world. We clean up the roadside in Hovland, we support the Cook County Foodshelf, we provide art supplies and school support for Haiti, we help fight hunger around the world.

Trinity Lutheran, Hovland...being sent into God's world
Worship, prayer, and the proclamation of God's Word send us out into creation. Our lovely church provides sanctuary and refreshing, and through it we become active for Christ. Locally we support our Food Shelf, inter-denominational events, youth programs, community activities, and help fight against hunger in the world through the ELCA. Baptized in Christ, we are sent to serve in God's name.
